Exhibition Essentials – Setting up the Perfect Trade Show or Exhibition Stand
You have booked a stand and looking forward to generating a full order book. All that remains is making sure that you are well organised to take advantage of the potential opportunities.
Being prepared for the unexpected and ticking off every essential item on your checklist is essential.
Exhibition Equipment
It is not just a table and chairs needed for the stand – you will also need to think about display shelves, a lockable counter to keep bags and equipment safe and lighting.
Exhibition Staff
Good staff are crucial to ensuring a successful trade show or exhibition. If you don’t have enough staff to deal with enquiries, then visitors are going to go elsewhere. Exhibition staff have to be just as enthusiastic and helpful at the end of the day as they are at the beginning. They need to be able identify quickly if visitors are truly interested in your company, and the extent to which visitors are responsible for buying. The quicker this can be achieved, then the more likely you are to be able to talk to people who can fill your order book.
It’s hard and very tiring work for just one day, so a week long event requires very special people who can cope with the pressure.
Exhibition Marketing Materials
Check through your marketing materials and make sure you have enough to last out the exhibition. You will always need more than you think. Brochures, flyers, press packs, post cards, business cards – all totally essential for handing out to visitors. Don’t forget some demo products, perhaps some giveaways to ensure visitors don’t forget you. You may want some higher level freebies such as sample products, or bags to give to special visitors.
Exhibition Kit List
We’ve worked with a vast array of clients at exhibitions large and small throughout the UK and beyond. We’ve learned from experience what is really needed. We also know that you cannot be complacent. There is always something that can go wrong on the day. The unexpected can happen. It may be just a small matter of having to hunt down someone with sharp scissors to open a packet – or it might be a matter of having to dash back to the office for a forgotten box of posters.
To help you, we have made up an exhibition checklist. It covers everything including the items you might not expect such as plasters to cover blisters on aching feet, sticky tape, coffee and scissors. Print off a copy and make it an essential part of your exhibition preparation.
