Retail spending is always high, reaching over £775m and every company is keen to maximise their share. Carlsberg’s Pop up Bar –
At first sight the idea of a pop up bar is nothing unusual until you realise that this one was made entirely of chocolate. Everything about this life size project from the bar counter and bar stools to the dartboard and beer mats, were made of chocolate. Even the free half pints of Carlsberg were served in engraved, milk chocolate glasses.

Hotel Chocolat’s TheBeauBunny Tour involved a costumed Bunny dressed in a black tie suit touring its UK shops. Customers could take a selfie and post it on social media – it proved an instant success, with the company’s social media being deluged with images.

The Co-Operative Food’s Good Eggs –
Designed to promote the idea that helping others is a good idea, while naturally promoting their brand name; the Co-Op recruited an actor for this intriguing promotion. Both his arms were put in plaster casts and then he went to a public bench and tried to eat his lunch. A hidden camera recorded what happened next. With arms covered in plaster, it is not easy to try and lift and eat sandwiches. People stopped to help. Those who did found themselves being rewarded with an Easter Egg. They had become the ‘good eggs’

Thorntons Treasure Hunt
A high street chocolate specialist, Thorntons created a nationwide Easter Egg hunt. Over 50 eggs were hidden at locations around the UK and clues were provided on both Facebook and Twitter. Egg hunters could also take a look at an interactive map to help them. Anyone taking part in the hunt could tweet hunting updates to a special viral link HarryHopalotsEggHunt!
