Door to Door Flyering Staff – Coffee Promotion
The Grocer recently published an article on the increase in sales of coffee machines for the home during lockdown. John Lewis, among other retailers, reported sales of coffee machines are up 30% compared with last year.
And Envisage was fortunate to be involved in a truly innovative piece of experimental marketing, right in the middle of the pandemic.
Coffee on the go
A recently launched independent, ethical coffee business in London called Dartbrooke had been supplying workers and people locally with their daily dose of fresh coffee until lockdown hit.
They had invested in their business significantly and were now facing losing their business having traded for less than 6 months.
The owners decided that it wasn’t going to happen, cue, Envisage staff. The coffee owners worked on their online offering and then employed 16 of our staff each day over 3 days, created some really simple leaflets, and got our Envisage staff to leaflet drop – house to house – in their local area.
The leaflet had a really simple message – we are a local business, please support us by buying some freshly ground beans. In return, when we deliver your order, we will bring you a free cup of coffee.
Demand for Coffee Soared
Within days, the owners were struggling to cope with demand. Such a simple plan, with a small amount of investment, had saved their business. They were able to deliver locally, create a rapport with their customers, selling their coffee beans and putting a smile on people’s faces by delivering a free coffee at the same time.
Demand has continued since then and the business is in a much stronger position than it was in March.
