Become a fashion model or catwalk model 

Ever wondered what it takes to become a fashion or catwalk model? Well here are our top 5 tips for any budding Naomi Campbell or Gigi Hadid’s!

1. Modelling Agency

You need to register with as many reputable modelling and promotional agencies as possible. The more agencies you register with the better chance you have of finding work. Most modelling agencies will have an application form of their own to use.  Registering with Envisage Models is Free.

2. Modelling Portfolio

Put together a professional portfolio with professional pictures. Be sure to include a mixture of pictures, not just what you think is your “best side”.  Make sure you include an up to date CV and send this along to the modelling agency along with the professional pictures detailing any experience you have. It is a good idea not to include photo’s of you on nights out, glamour photos, pouting or selfies with busy backgrounds as these will detract from the professional image you wish to portray.  

3. Flexible Models

Be prepared for some really unsociable and long hours. Being a fashion model is not instant fame with sports cars and weekend trips to Monaco! You have to be prepared to work and work very hard. Not all fashion shows are going to be on your door step either so you need to be prepared to travel to events. You are unlikely to be walking down the catwalk with Kate Moss in Milan from day one so consider all assignments. Any job is going to earn you valuable experience.

4. Reliable Fashion Models

The modelling agency or PR agency that you have registered will look at getting you work. The moment you get that call for a shoot or fashion show you then have to be 100% professional and reliable. If you are late or a no show then the fashion or promotional agency is unlikely to use you again as you are representing them as well as yourself.
