Why survey?

Surveys are a great way of finding out what your customers and potential customers think.  You can find out what their habits are, how they are feeling at the moment and their likes and dislikes.  You can test products and ask them to feed back.  It is entirely up to you.

And you can use this information to determine your strategy moving forwards.  You can also use it for marketing material – be that social media posts, blogs and most importantly PR.  If you can offer it to the local or national press, and get a name check, it can really give your business a boost.

How can Envisage help?

With a pool of over 12k people on our books, you can really drill down on ages, gender and other demographics if you choose.  Our promo staff can answer surveys quickly and are flexible enough to complete both video orientated surveys, online; complicated or simple surveys.  You can have a large number of people complete the survey, or a smaller, more targeted group.

We recently did some work for an online shop about online shopping habits both pre, during and potentially post pandemic – it makes for an interesting read!

Desk research – online shopping stats

  1. In 2020, as high as 87% of UK households made online purchases within the preceding 12 months’*
  2. According to the same report, this includes groups who have traditionally been slow to adopt online banking & shopping, but now have been forced to shop in new ways for essential items and now do not intend to change these new habits.*
  3. The increase in ecommerce is expected to add £5.3bn to UK ecommerce sales in 2020, bringing the total to £78.9bn.^

Envisage survey – Online shopping

We opened this up to all ages and demographics, so we could get quite varied feedback.

  • 57% of respondents were women, 43% men
  • Largest age group to complete the survey was the 25-34. 65+ made up 13% of the results.
  • We specifically asked our respondents to shop from one of 10 stores, and ‘buy’ a particular product.
  • The overall response on ease of shopping was; 83% of respondents found it really easy to find what they were looking for from these 10 particular retailers
  • The average number of pages visited from logging on to completing purchase was just 3 – so the stores had good searching capabilities.
  • Below are some other stats

Generally, it would appear that shopping online has increased for all this year due to necessity, but it has changed our respondents shopping habits for the future, once out of the pandemic.  Only one stalwart is willing to shop instore 100% post pandemic!  The ability to shop at flexible times, have product delivered to your home and ease of shopping online appear to have the greatest impact on continued use of online shopping.
