One of the fashion highlights from April 2017 must be Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week. BBFW is the European leader in bridal fashion. It combines the impact of the biggest fashion shows with the booming business generated at a trade fair.

This season the world was presented with the 2018 collections. International buyers mingled with manufacturers and designers to show off their 2018 bridal collections for the first time. Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week is an extremely unique event that intertwines the overwhelming power of the media impact of the catwalk shows and the creations of great designers with the hustle and bustle of the collections at a trade fair or exhibition.

Transport yourself back to the 25th – 28th April, you’re in Barcelona swarmed by wedding dresses, groom’s suits, cocktail dresses and occasion dresses for 2018.

As we can only imagine the exquisite masterpieces that descended the runway – I thought I would give you a brief insight into what you can expect to see in bridal shows and exhibitions very soon!

Ruffles: Not only are ruffles high on the fashion radar right now, they are soon to be the must-have when walking down the aisle. Picture a wedding dress with multi-layered tiers, embroidery and lots of metallic thread work.

Beads: Forget 80’s beads, bridal beads are to be in every woman’s wish list. Envision deco-beads, crystal-beads along with hand cut sequins.

Long Sleeves: Fast forward five years, post The Duchess of Cambridge’s worldwide phenomenon of a wedding dress and she’s still the muse for bridal designers today. Think long sleeves, high necks and oodles of lace.

Multicolours: Throw out your plain ivory classic and say hello to the newest craze on the bridal block. Adopt the multicoloured floral embroidered dress and you’ll be a rainbow visionary.
