Music Festivals

Worthy Farm is home to the biggest music festival in the UK, with 135,000 tickets being sold in 30 minutes only proves how great this celebration of the arts truly is. Glastonbury is one of those where you’ll never be stuck for something to do, there’s circus performers, theatrical shows and of course the 100’s of musicians playing over the weekend.

These two events coincide with each other over the August bank holiday weekend. Drawing thousands of music fans in with their compelling and diverse line ups as well as its exciting atmosphere. With the likes of Eminem, Queens Of The Stone Age, Kasabian, Foo Fighters headlining previous years, this year is sure to showcase another brilliant array of rock stars.

The well-known music pioneer Rob Da Bank and his super creative wife Josie, have combined their talents to create one of the most exciting party of the summer. If you’re going make sure you don’t forget your fancy dress! Each year Bestival sets a different theme for its fancy dress, past themes have been Desert Island Disco, HMS Bestival & Freaks Of The Sea. So if you’re a fancy dress fanatic and love music, this place is for you.

Food Festivals

Jamie Oliver and friend Alex James have come together to produce a great food extravaganza for people of all ages. This year’s headliners are… For starters on the Friday will be Monica Galetti, Jamie Oliver will be the main course on Saturday and finally for dessert on Sunday Raymond Blanc will take the stage. And if that doesn’t whet your appetite, there is also live music throughout the day from chart topping artists.

This culinary carnival is hosted by 10 different locations all over the UK on different weekends throughout the summer, with an extra 2 more locations for the Foodies Winter Festival. There are plenty of workshops and talks hosted by experts for you to sink your teeth into, with a generous side order of locally produced bands that will be playing live for you to get your salsa on.

Like Foodies Festival, this also takes place in multiple locations over different weekends. Each show will be offering lots chef demonstrations for you to feast your eyes on, and with a great selection of local producers and street food stalls on site, there will be plenty for you to feast your mouth on too. If you’re up for a challenge try taking on one of the Man Vs Food challenges that will be occurring, where people will be finding out if their eyes really are bigger than their bellies. If that’s too much to stomach, there’s also a fork load of local musicians performing through the duration of the event.

Craft Ale Festivals

Taking place in Olympia this August will be one of the biggest festivals of beer that the UK has to offer. With over 900 different ales & ciders to choose from, there will definitely be something there to excite your taste buds.

Craft Beer Calling – http://www.craftbeercalling.com/
Festival goers should expect around 300 beers from 60 different breweries. All the big names in the business will be there, expect the likes of The Kernel, Beavertown, Five Points and Camden Town. Then if you fancy a little boogie head on to the closing party where there will be DJ’s and of course more beer! Tickets can be purchased on their website.

This great combination of mouth-watering food and finely brewed beer has proved to be a great success with all goers claiming they had a barrel of laughs. There will be two live music stages where bands will be performing songs from a range of different genres creating a truly un-beer-lievable atmosphere.
