Santa Claus for a PR Stunt and Photo Shoot

Santa’s in large numbers took to the skies when an airline sought our help in a stunning promotional activity.

Come September, everyone wants to be the first to introduce a spectacular Christmas campaign that gets people talking, and achieving those wonderful Christmas sales figures. PR companies are always looking for a way to achieve this quickly and efficiently.

As we all know, Santa works incredibly hard over Christmas, as does all his Santa helpers in stores, on trains, boats and planes in thousands of different locations. Deciding that Santa deserved recognition for all this hard work, the airline decided to hold a hunt for the most over-worked Santa Claus performer in the UK. A holiday in sunny Spain awaited the winning Santa.

Promoting this competition meant calling in the help of Santa. We supplied a crowd of 30 Santa Claus who were filmed boarding a plane ready to go on holiday. It created some fantastic images. The long queue of Santa characters were filmed climbing up the stairs leading to the aircraft door. Then more images followed showing them relaxing in their seats on the aircraft, waving at the camera. Santa was clearly enjoyed a lovely relaxing flight.

After a day’s filming, the images accompanied countless press releases and articles. This was an event that more than achieved its aim. The winning Santa had a relaxing holiday, recovering from an intense bout of overwork during Christmas while the airline gained brilliant publicity with colourful images and a story that ran and ran for weeks throughout the campaign.

We love doing this type of event because it is so much fun for everyone. It attracts incredible amounts of publicity and definitely gets a message across to potential customers.
